I usually use this opening paragraph to talk about something that happened in the most recent series but all I can say is I like the aesthetics of watching the Red Sox and the Cubs. I’m glad we get it every year. I also texted my brothers saying that I would like to be at Wrigley Field next year.

Tyler O’Neill Home Run Derby Participant

If O’Neill keeps up this home run-hitting pace, he must be in the derby. Tyceps (trademark Jack) is currently slashing .329/.447/.729! A .729 slugging percentage! It is super early to talk about this but it would be fun to have him flexing while trying to hit bombs. He should also go sleeveless.

Tanner Houck’s turnaround looks like the real thing.

This wasn’t a one or two-start blip for Tanner Houck. He has been dealing for the entire month of April. It is time to take this thing seriously. Houck’s line for April was 3-2 1.60 ERA 2.01 FIP 41 Ks, and 5 BB. That is 8.20 strikeouts for every 1 walk. He is striking out 9.38 K/9. He dealt again Sunday but his win was erased when Chris Martin let up a 3-run home run that took Houck out of the decision. He is another member of the Run Prevention Unit who has ditched his 4-seam fastball (he has thrown one all year). Look at his 41 strikeouts so far this year.
