Welcome to our long running (it’s the second year) tradition of ranking the teams we think have the best chance to win the Super Bowl. Jack and Tim sent me their lists and I averaged them out with the help of AI because who has time to actually figure that math out. But don’t fret a real life person wrote this. So here is our list.

Here’s the sorted list of teams based on their average rankings, without the averages:

  1. Chiefs – The weirdest 15-2 season you will ever see but they have Mahomes, the bye and they are the two-time defending champs.
  2. Lions – The bye definitely will help them, if they can get a couple guys back on defense look out. Otherwise they are going to have to win shootouts and continue to be crazy on 4th down.
  3. Bills – It might just be Josh Allen’s year. He is the favorite to be named MVP in a few weeks and just got engaged to a movie star. Will he get a ring of his own?
  4. Eagles – Jalen Hurts got dinged toward the end of the season but had two weeks off thanks to their position as the two seed being locked in. Saquan Barkley made people have the could a non-QB win the MVP conversation because he was so dominant this year. Also don’t sleep on the fact that the run game took eyes off what may be the best defense in the playoffs.
  5. Ravens – Lamar levitated above everyone else again this year but he is still yet to do it in January. Everyone wants to see that Bills/Ravens Divisonal Round game. Give it to us. Oh, they have Derrick Henry too.
  6. Vikings – Ranked 6th may be disrespectful. If they win in week 18 maybe they are ranked higher. Sam Darnold missed some throws against the Lions which has everyone remembering his first 7 years. Still, they have great coaching on both sides of the ball and the best Wide Receiver in football.
  7. Rams – If this offense gets humming watch out. Hot teams make runs in the NFL playoffs and this may be that team this year. If McVay, Stafford and those receivers get hot look out. They lose out of their home field advantage because of the wildfires devastating LA right now.
  8. Packers – Solid to good just about everywhere but Jordan Love hurt his elbow week 18 which is every fans nightmare. Josh Jacobs and a good defense gives them a shot though and Matt Nagy has proven to be a wiz calling plays.
  9. Chargers – Now we are getting into the long shots. A really good QB who doesn’t turn the ball over and a coach that wants to win the game 16-14 gives them a chance to win a game and be a scary out for the Chiefs (if both the Ravens and Bills win). Like the Rams, they have more on their minds than just football.
  10. Buccaneers – Baker Mayfield is not afraid of this ranking or any team in the NFL. Baker has the juice. We don’t love that it took until the last week of the year to win the division over the artist formally known as Kirk Cousins and a rookie QB.
  11. Steelers – Pittsburgh is falling into the sunken place. They fell ass backwards into the playoffs and are now looking at a matchup against their biggest rival in Baltimore. Russell Wilson is still scared of the middle of the field and the offense is…what’s worse than middling?
  12. Texans – Tim asked if this team were frauds months ago. They seem to have been anointed too early. They struggled all year. They lost Tank Dell to a gruesome knee injury. The pre-season vibes are gone.
  13. Commanders – This may be the team that the neutral football fan is most excited about. Get rid of an asshole owner. Draft a stud a QB that everyone seems to like (watch his reaction to Marcus Mariotta’s TD in week 18). They are very unlikely to win but what a story.
  14. Broncos – Someone had to get the 7-seed in the AFC. Bo Nix may just be a guy and the defense has had some pretty high highs. They have to go to Buffalo for Wild Card weekend and if they were able to get by them, they get to go to Arrowhead. The road is long here.
